Many women confront the challenge of conforming to societal expectations, rather than pursuing their own happiness. By disregarding the opinions of others and focusing on personal fulfillment, individuals can discover and achieve their true goals. This is easier said than done at times, and I can personally attest to this. There was a time when I learned I needed to just do it. I still struggle with expectations, fitting norms, and worrying about what others think. This is normal, and the goal of this introduction is to encourage women to overcome gender-defined roles, challenge male dominance, and embrace confidence in pursuing their dreams regardless of external pressures. It highlights the importance of dropping excuses and adopting behaviors and skills that promote self-assurance, persistence, and positivity. Women are urged to fearlessly pursue their dream careers, by rejecting stereotypes and societal expectations that have historically limited their potential. The key message is clear. Women can succeed in their aspirations while excelling in other areas of life.

Jenn has served most recently as an active AIHA Volunteer in the 4-year officer rotation of the Women in IH, and the Leadership and Management Committees. She is recognized as a member of AIHA’s Future Leaders Institute, a Kusnetz Award Recipient, and a nominee for the Alice Hamilton Award. With a diverse background in chemical, manufacturing, power generation, and consulting, she has blazed a trail to lead others in the field. Jenn has a passion for empowering our next future leaders, women, members of the LGBTQIA+ and under-represented communities in our industry to reach for and achieve their goals and aspirations. Outside of her career, Jenn is a married mother of twin boys, and an entrepreneur. As a female leader, a woman in IH, and a leader within the IH/OEHS community, Jenn has recognized how to distinguish failure vs. stepping stones; results vs. productivity; how to build a dynamic inclusive environment for success and collaboration.
