January 2020 – President’s Message

Fellow NJAIHA members,

We sponsored and executed a successful Northeast Industrial Hygiene Conference (NEIHce) in Princeton, NJ on December 6, 2019 at the Westin Hotel.  The event was well attended and the exhibitor area was a sellout.  We actually had to turn a few vendors away.

The PDCs held on December 5th were also well attended and the PDC on Ethics was particularly interesting with new ethical case narratives presented (see related photos for both events in this month’s newsletter)

We will be featuring some excellent educational content at our dinner meetings.  If you would like to participate and have some technical aspect of your job and would like to share a 45- minute to 1-hour presentation, please let me know at svanetten@emsl.com ,or email Dan Preisler at dpreisler@kleinfelder.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

NJAIHA is looking for volunteers to be the next President-elect, and for Outreach Coordinator. On the National level at AIHA, the Local Section Council initiative vote passed and the local sections will be represented by a newly created Local Sections Advisory Group.  There are no longer any regional local section representatives.  If you would like more information, you can contact the current Chair by emailing John Moore at John.moore@controlehs.com.

National and local section dues are now due.  Please don’t forget to add NJAIHA and your local section when renewing.

Let 2020 be a great year for Industrial Hygiene.  I hope to see you at the dinner meetings.

Sincerely,
Scott VanEtten, CIH
President NJAIHA
