October 2021 – President’s Message

Greetings from NJAIHA! We hope that you are all well and that you were able to have a  great summer.

Due to the ongoing COVID concerns and the Delta variant, we held off on hosting a September 2021 meeting. However, the good news is that we were able to hold a virtual meeting this month on Thursday, October 28th where Maharshi Mehta gave a presentation on Global Occupational Hygiene Priorities. A review of that meeting will be included in our next issue of the Examiner.

The NJAIHA Executive Committee continues to discuss future meeting options such as whether there will be inperson meetings, virtual meetings or a hybrid option. We reviewed the results of our member survey and are evaluating the feedback we received. Thank you for participating in the survey. We are always looking to showcase new and interesting topics, so if you would like to present or have any suggestions, please email me at bfeury@langan.com.

We also would like to remind you that our chapter maintains a 2021 eLearning subscription that members of NJAIHA have access to for information and/or additional contact hours for CIH Certificate Maintenance. You should be receiving emails form AIHA national (email@communications.aiha.org) when new content is added. Please let us know if you are having any issues.

There are still open positions for board members! We are still looking to fill the roles of PresidentElect, Director of Administration and Outreach Coordinator. Getting involved with the Board is a great way to learn more about our industry, meet peers and make a real difference in the direction of our profession. If you or someone you know may be interested or would like to hear more about what the roles entail, please send me an email.

Please stay tuned and keep active in the organization. We have a lot of exciting events coming up this year and encourage your participation in them to make it a success. Best wishes and stay safe everyone.

Sincerely,
Brian Feury, CIH

President NJAIHA
