April 2021 – President’s Message

Greetings from NJAIHA! As always, I hope this message finds you well.

To kick things off, I wanted to make everyone aware of our upcoming “dinner” meeting. Jeffrey Komrower with Noise Control Engineering will be presenting on the topic off “Quieter is Better: Basic Noise Control Concepts” on Thursday, April 22nd, which happens to also be our Past Presidents’ night.

Due to COVID last April, we were not able to have a past president’s night, but I hope those who have served the NJAIHA in the past will be able to attend this upcoming virtual meeting. With regards to future meetings, if you have an interesting topic you’d like to present on please email Brian Feury (bfeury@langan.com) or myself (dpreisler@kleinfelder.com).

If you are looking for additional contact hours, don’t forget to check out the 2021 eLearning subscription that you as members of NJAIHA have access to. You should be receiving emails from AIHA national (email@communications.aiha.org) when new content is added. Please let us know if you are having any issues.

In addition to the open positions for board members in the roles of Director of Administration and Outreach Coordinator, we are also now looking for candidates for the role of President Elect. If you or someone you know may be interested or would like to hear more about what these roles entail, please send an email to myself at dpreisler@kleinfelder.com. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community and continue the traditions of the chapter dating back to 1945.

We are still planning for the potential to return to in-person meetings, and with the former meeting venue (Snuffy’s Pantagis in Scotch Plains) having closed its doors for good we are still soliciting recommendations for meeting locations in the central NJ area. Best wishes and stay safe everyone.

Sincerely,
Daniel Preisler, CIH
President NJAIHA
