Topic: Using CO2 Modeling to Evaluate a school’s HVAC performance and its contribution to a well-managed Indoor Air Quality Program.
Richard Lynch has developed a CO2 model based on the AHIA well mixed model to drastically increase the effectiveness of a school’s IAQ plan, particularly in HVAC performance and maintenance activities.  This presentation will be highlighting lessons learned from implementing this model.

Richard Andrew Lynch is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Council – Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant who has a background in Physics via Bachelor of Science, a background in Green Buildings via Master of Science, and a Business background via Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Environmental Sustainability.  His passions for Industrial Hygiene and Indoor Air Quality Consulting has led him to start his own Certified Industrial Hygiene and Indoor Air Quality Consulting firm.  This firm, Lynch CIH & IAQ Consultants, LLC,  combines Industrial Hygiene Consulting and Indoor Air Quality at the highest level while proactively educating clients and students alike to the industry and bridging people to have successful careers in these industries.

Topic: Five Common Difficulties in Real Time Detection System Implementation
Real time detection systems hold tremendous potential to improve exposure decision analytics.  However, as the complexity of real time detection system implementation increases, so does the potential for significant setbacks and difficulties.  This session discusses five common difficulties that the occupational and environmental health and safety professional may encounter when planning deployment of a real time detection system, and offers insight gleaned by experience to address potential challenges to prepare occupational health professionals and organizations to anticipate and overcome common difficulties in real-time detection systems design and implementation.
 
Speaker: Spencer M. Pizzani, CIH
Spencer is the Global Industrial Hygiene Program Manager for PepsiCo.  His experience includes fifteen years of IH experience working in consulting and manufacturing, including running the Pepsi industrial hygiene program.  He has contributed numerous works to The Synergist and has presented PDCs and Education Sessions at AIHce, now AIHA Connect.  He is the author of The Athena heuristic: The need for a system of algorithms for standardized evaluation of big exposure data in JOEH, and led the author group to compose AIHA’s Technical Framework for Susceptible Worker Protection.  He is also active in the Real Time Detection Systems Committee and the Big Data & Sensor Technology Working Group.
