Over the past several years, Antea Group has received some interesting requests to support our clients’ IH concerns, that often make us scratch our heads, and sometimes blur the lines between true industrial hygiene and other tangential types of EHS services. From butcher shops to wine cellars, to movie sets, storage units and industrial settings, the types of project work that come across our plates provide curious technical challenges that need to be met with creativity (and sometimes a wry sense of humor). Join me to explore some of these oddities and feel free to bring your own stories to share!

Alanna Garrison, CIH, CSP, CHMM, is a Senior Consultant with Antea Group USA with over 25 years of environmental, health, and safety consulting experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Geology, as well as a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Management, with a focus in EHS. Alanna’s focus areas include industrial hygiene and EHS compliance programs; EHS training program design; EHS auditing in high-risk spaces; implementation and evaluation of construction and industrial safety programs; large-scale remediation safety and emergency response. Alanna leads Antea Group’s Strategic EHS Compliance Services (which primarily focuses on client services for higher-hazard work environments) and provides global direction for Antea Group’s EHS Services and Innovation team. More importantly, Alanna is a pit bull mom and enjoys spending free time meandering the trails of the Pine Barrens.
