Topic: A Personal Journey with Allergens and an Interesting OSHA Veterinary Hospital Case
Speaker: Marc A. Vargas, CIH, MPH,  President, NJ AIHA
Marc Vargas started his environmental safety and health career in South Florida as a Pollution Control Inspector and Hydrogeologist, then a Safety Director in a Resource Recovery facility. He then joined Federal OSHA and has worked as a Compliance Officer in South Florida , then New York City, for 25 years. He volunteered to assist NJ AIHA in 2019 as part of the Northeast Industrial Hygiene Conference committee, and now serves as President for NJ AIHA for the 2022 – 2023 season. He volunteers for NJ AIHA in his personal capacity.

Topic: Challenges in CIH Consulting
Speaker: Reagan Branch, MPh, CSP, CIH, Construction Site Safety Manager, Chief Consultant and President of Pyramid Safety and Health Solutions, New York, NY.

Ms. Branch began her career as a Public Health Sanitarian for the City of New York, Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program where her responsibilities included assessing risk of children with lead poisoning within their city’s daycares, housing, and shelters. She monitored abatements, conducted sampling, training and performed community outreach. For 10 years, Ms. Branch was an OSHA Compliance Officer with the US Dept. of Labor, assigned to the New York City Office. She conducted IH and safety inspections of city construction sites and general industry establisments—this included sites associated with the WTC demolition and rebuild. She is also a construction site safety manager and authorized OSHA trainer. She is a Construction Site Safety Manager, Chief Consultant and President of Pyramid Safety and Health Solutions, New York, NY. Reagan is also a member of the Greater New York Chapter of the National Association of Advancement of Women in Construction and served as their president in 2021 – 2022 , to advance women in construction as well as improving opportunities for woman owned construction business
