November 2019 – President’s Message

We are looking forward to a successful Northeast Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (NEIHce) in Princeton, NJ on December 6, 2019 at the Westin Hotel. This year NJAIHA is the host of the event, and we have some great speakers lined up discussing industrial hygiene issues. On December 5th, 2019, we will hold our annual PDC short courses at PSEG in South Plainfield, NJ.

Dan Preisler is our new President elect, and Vince Daliessio, CIH is our new Director of Publications. Vince takes over for Mark Ostapczuk who moved to Georgia. We want to thank these individuals for past and future service to the NJAIHA.

Our PDCs on December 5th will feature 4 interesting courses. These will include Electrostatic Spark Hazards, Silica in Construction, Ethical Fitness (a fan favorite for CIHs who may need this session for CM points maintenance), and HAZWOPER: Where’s the Beef?

Our NEIHce will feature some interesting topics. These will include presentations on Global Occupational Health Disease, NIOSH Occupational Banding, an AIHA National Update, What’s New in Washington, Occupational Health Hazards in the Cannabis Industry, 50 Predictions for EHS in 2030, and Tools for Successful Workplace Safety and Health Programs.

Please join us for one or both days.

We hope to feature excellent educational content at our dinner meetings. If you would like to participate and have some technical aspect of your job you would like to share with us in a 45-minute to 1-hour presentation, please let me know at svanetten@emsl.com. I look forward to hearing from everybody.

Sincerely,
Scott VanEtten, CIH
President NJAIHA
